It's not difficult, i worked for carmike cinemas and most projection booths are now being equipped with digital technology ans opposed to the old-fasioned reel projectors. You can apply directly for this position or start as a concessionist and ask for training and show an interest in this position. since this technology is fairly new, you will be among the first to learn it, and most theatres will value your enthusiasm!

Get a job at a movie theater. I worked as Concessions and Box and then in less than a year I was got the Asst. Manager position.. and at my theater the Asst. Manager and Manager ran the projectors. Though at times the manager did train some of the ushers to do it to. It's a matter of what the movie theater is like. You could probably just ask about the position and learn what you would have to do to get there. We had the big film projectors and had to be threaded each time and all that. I loved it. (it has been a year since then and I still remember how to thread them.. which is pretty technical cause you can't do it wrong or it will scratch the film)

I've seen them around. I dont think you need any kind of special training before hand.
